Rules version 1

Why these rules

FoodXChange passes food between neighbors who have never met, and nobody inspects it on the way. Sealed packaging and fresh produce are things a person can judge for themselves at the doorstep. Food that has been opened, started, or cooked in someone else's kitchen is not, however well meant it was, so the app does not carry it.

You accept these rules in the app every time you post, and they are part of our Terms of Service. A listing that appears to break them may be held for review before anyone sees it, or removed afterwards.

Food Safety โ€” Important

These rules reduce risk. They do not remove it. FoodXChange does not prepare, inspect, handle, test, certify, or guarantee any food offered through the Service, and you accept all food at your own risk.

Ask the sharer about ingredients, allergens, freshness, and storage before you accept anything, and do not take food with damaged packaging or food that looks or smells wrong. People with allergies or intolerances must apply their own judgment and must not rely solely on what a sharer tells them.

Reporting something

Every listing can be reported from inside the app, and we review reports within 24 hours. If you have seen something that breaks these rules, report it there or email support@thefoodxchange.com.
